Lavender Floral Water

$40.00

When I think of Lavender I can't help but think of the goddess Circe.

The goddess of magic. She is the enchantress most recognized for her advanced knowledge of herbs, tinctures, and potions, and her ability to change men into animals ranging from pigs, lions, oysters & elephants, which she sometimes joins...

I can also imagine Cleopatra using lavender oil to seduce men. Not to mention the association with the fatal bite that bit her, which was said to be hiding in her Lavender bushes... the plant that is widely known to represent purity and calmness seems to have a dark side. Lavender represented "distrust" to the Victorians base” based on the superstition that poisonous asps lived in the bushes.

This herb speaks volumes and transports me to a time of mysticism and lore.

“Mercury owns the Herb, which carries his effects very potently.” ~ Culpeper, The English Physician, 1652

Lavender lessens systemic tension that plagues the mind and musculoskeletal system and is a primo remedy for wind/tension tissue states or excess Mercury in the constitution. The nervous system is governed by Mercury, and you can see Lavender’s relaxant nervine influence in nearly every one of its clinical indications.

Hydrosol: A sol is defined in chemistry as an aggregate of fine particles that disseminate into a medium. When we speak of a hydrosol, the solid particulates of microscopic size such as volatile oils are dispersed throughout the liquid medium of water. Alongside the aroma, wonder, and enchantment, the spirit of the plant offers to the world.
